Executive Chef Marco Ormonde

Born in Terceira, Portugal in 1975, Marco Ormonde has been cooking since he was a child. Marco realized his love for the culinary arts while helping his grandmother cater parties for the upper class. When he immigrated to Canada in 1986, he brought along his love of cuisine and his family’s desire for a more promising life.

At just 12 years old, Marco earned his first job in a professional kitchen, working after school. While learning from more experienced chefs, he soon worked his way through the ranks and was promoted to first cook at 15 years old. This quickly lead to an apprenticeship at Humber College and Marco’s career has been advancing ever since.

After spending a year working as a station chef under top toque Bruce Hanna, at Buonanotte Restaurant & Winery, Marco’s hard work and dedication to the culinary arts landed him positions at Terra, Barbizon and the Ramada Hotel
